Easter around the world

While it is common in Brazil to celebrate Easter with the family around the table full of food and to distribute chocolate eggs, in the world, depending on the location, the date is remembered with parades, war pies and visit to the graves of ancestors.
In the U.S. the celebrations take place during the day, in outdoor places, where children are playing with colorful Easter eggs that are hidden. At the Fifth Avenue in New York parades happen while in the White House there is the traditional Easter egg hunt.
In Sweden, Easter is similar to the halloween in U.S. as children dress up in costumes and go from house to house asking for candies. Indians celebrate Holi festival to remember the appearance of Lord Krishna.
The traditional prank in England is the war of Hare pies and the Bottle Kicking. In Greece take place processions, where red eggs are used representing the blood of Christ. These eggs are broken when people proclaim that Christ is risen.

People visit the graves of their ancestors and make offerings in China, an event called Ching-Ming. In countries like Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania and Russia, the tradition is decorating eggs to give as gifts to friends and relatives.
